Look.  I know that we all have different perspectives.  We all use different translations. We all attend different denominations.  We don’t have to agree and many times we don’t. We don’t have to combine into one massive congregation, I believe God loves variety.  No one but Jesus has the corner on Truth.  But I will never understand Christians who are…

Pro abortion – “Children are a gift from the Lordthey are a reward from Him.” Psalm 127:3

Pro fornication/adultery – “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.” I Corin 6:18

Pro cursing – “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” Ephesians 4:29

Pro racism/injustice/prejudice – “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

Pro “ugly” – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22

Pro transgender/homosexuality – “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it.” Gen 1:27

Pro rebellion – “Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols.” I Samuel 15:23

Pro selfishness – “If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion–how can God’s love be in that person?”  I John 3:17

Pro world – “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.”  I John 2:15-16

Pro human wisdom – “This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.”I Corin 2:13

I know we all struggle with these sins…at least I do, but that’s just the point…we struggle!  We hate them in ourselves, we call them what they are and we confess and repent.  We don’t accept them.  We don’t ignore them.  We don’t celebrate them.  And we certainly do not jump on board their cause.  We bring them into the light so that they can’t keep creating darkness in us.

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.”  Matthew 6:24
